Quantum Software Developer Institut quantique / AlgoLab
Josh is a Quantum Software Developer in the Algolab, a technology platform that is part of the Institut Quantique at the University of Sherbrooke. He has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Toronto and Swansea University. He earned his PhD in Theoretical Chemistry at The University of British Columbia and his undergraduate degree in Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
Superpower
I have experience with the quantum dynamics of various systems—from particles in disordered lattices to molecules in magnetic fields—and with solving the electronic Hamiltonian using the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG). My strengths include drawing on information and ideas from differing fields, identifying the weak points of an idea, and pinpointing the keys components needed for a minimum viable product. If you want a perspective from left field, want to test out your ideas, or need help prioritizing, come on over!
